Pool Deck & Patio Leveling

Pool deck and patio leveling fixes the settled panels that turn a backyard surface into a hazard and a drainage problem. Foam-Tek raises pool decks and patios with expanding polyurethane foam for homeowners across the northwest Twin Cities metro and the St. Cloud area. The slab is ready for bare feet and patio furniture the same day.

When Pool Deck Panels Settle

Pool decks live in the wettest soil in the yard. Splash-out, backwash, and sprinkler overspray all soak the ground around the pool, and that water carries fine soil away from under the deck panels. Add Minnesota frost heave and the panels start moving independently, leaving raised edges where wet, bare feet cross. We lift each settled panel back flush with its neighbors through dime-sized holes, and because the foam is lightweight, it does not stress the soil beside the pool shell the way a heavy slurry would.

Drainage That Works Against You

A pool deck is supposed to shed water away from the pool. A patio is supposed to shed it away from the house. When panels settle, the pitch reverses: deck water carries dirt and debris back into the pool, and patio runoff heads for the foundation instead of the lawn. Every storm then feeds the same washout that caused the settling. Restoring the original pitch is the whole point of the lift, and it is what stops the cycle.

A Surface You Can Host On

Patios take the most traffic of any concrete on the property: grills, furniture, kids, and guests. Settled slabs wobble tables, trip people carrying plates, and pool water in low spots that becomes ice in October. Leveling brings the surface back to one plane in a few hours, with no torn-out concrete and no color-mismatched new pour. The foam cures in about 15 minutes, so the patio is back in service before dinner.

Why homeowners pick us for pool deck & patio leveling

  • Raised edges around the pool are gone the same day
  • Water drains away from the pool and the house again
  • No demolition next to a pool shell or landscaping tear-up
  • Lightweight foam keeps the load off saturated pool-side soil
  • The existing concrete keeps its color and finish, no mismatched patch
  • A fraction of the cost of replacing deck or patio panels

How the job runs

  1. Step 1 of 4

    Map the settlement

We measure each panel, check the pitch toward or away from the pool and house, and mark which slabs need lifting.

  2. Step 2 of 4

    Drill discreet holes

Dime-sized injection holes go in along each settled panel, placed to keep patches out of the main sight lines where we can.

  3. Step 3 of 4

    Lift in small shots

Foam is injected in controlled increments, raising each panel until the surface is flush and the drainage pitch is restored.

  4. Step 4 of 4

    Patch and finish

Holes are patched to blend with the slab, joints that need sealing get flagged, and the deck is usable that afternoon.

What does pool deck and patio leveling cost in the Twin Cities?

The quote comes down to how many panels have settled, how far they have dropped, and how much void has opened underneath. Backyard access plays a role, since hose runs and setup take longer behind a fenced pool than on a front walk. Restoring pitch across a large deck involves more material than lifting one patio corner. Whatever the scope, leveling costs a fraction of what demolition and replacement would, and you keep the deck surface that already matches your yard. We measure on site and quote it straight.

Fair questions, straight answers

Can you level concrete around a pool without damaging it?+

Yes. The foam goes in through small holes in gradual, controlled shots, and we watch the lift constantly, so panels rise a little at a time rather than all at once. The cured foam is also lightweight, so it does not load the soil around the pool shell the way mudjacking slurry does.

Why is my patio sloping toward the house?+

The soil closest to the house is usually backfill from construction, and it compacts and washes out faster than undisturbed ground farther out. As that edge sinks, the patio pitch flips toward the foundation. Lifting the low edge restores the original slope so runoff heads for the yard again.

How soon can we use the pool deck after leveling?+

The same day. Polyurethane cures in about 15 minutes, so each panel is solid almost as soon as it is lifted. Once the injection holes are patched, the deck can take foot traffic, furniture, and everything else a summer weekend throws at it without any curing delay.

Will leveling change how my patio looks?+

The surface you have is the surface you keep. The only visible change is a set of dime-sized patched holes, which weather in over time, and panels sitting flush instead of stair-stepped. That is a big advantage over partial replacement, where a new pour never quite matches the old concrete.
